This position implements a classical Christian Physical Education curriculum that involves a love for ancient wisdom, instilling virtue, connecting Christ to every subject, and developing world class rhetorical skills. This position is located at our Downtown, West Palm Beach school location.


K-7th Grade Physical Education Teacher – 10-month position

Reports to: Head of School

Responsibilities

  • Teach knowledge and skills to students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the approved curriculum.
  • Design projects that meet students with varying intellectual abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional needs.
  • Write lesson plans that meet the goals as set forth by Administration.
  • Promote, model, and expect safety in all aspects of the physical education (P.E.) curriculum and all interactions.
  • Foster sportsmanship, respect, and fair play.
  • Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle through additional means to support the P.E. curriculum and the school’s mission.
  • Follow Policies and Procedures as set forth by Administration.
  • Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing teaching environment.
  • Participate in all school meetings, trainings, and orientations.
  • Complete all in-service hours on time.
  • Turn in all required paperwork on time.
  • Cooperate in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-school activities.
  • Maintain appropriate records for students.
  • Establish and maintain standards for acceptable student behavior using appropriate techniques.
  • Ensure the safety and health of all students, notifying the administration of any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunction.
  • Create a stimulating, organized, functional, healthy, and safe program for each age group.
  • Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills, share expertise with others.
  • All other duties as assigned.
