The Palm Beach Christian Academy (PBCA) operates as the educational ministry of Family Church, a dynamic network of community churches and classical Christian schools in South Florida. We invite you to become part of our expanding team.

This is a full-time role, reporting directly to the Campus Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a developmentally suitable educational experience in the classroom through engaging methods such as storytelling, games, and hands-on activities.
  • Guide students in adhering to classroom and school rules and procedures.
  • Assess students' progress throughout the academic year and evaluate their readiness for subsequent educational levels.
  • Communicate progress and concerns with sensitivity and professionalism to parents and the director.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents.
  • Uphold safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain necessary documentation for individual student files, attendance, incident reports, and other essential records.
  • Complete required in-service Childcare Training Credential hours as mandated by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid VPK Teacher credential.
  • Experience in classroom leadership and lesson plan development.
  • Familiarity with Florida Early Learning Standards and the capability to implement them effectively.
  • Certified or actively pursuing certification in one of the following: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), or Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and DCF Clearinghouse background check is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the classroom.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to engage with children at their eye level.
