Position Overview

As an educational professional, you will play a vital role in nurturing future Christian leaders who will enhance God's church, community, and His Kingdom on earth. This role involves implementing a classical Christian curriculum that emphasizes a love for ancient wisdom, instilling virtue, connecting Christ to every subject, and fostering exceptional rhetorical skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with their team and director to cultivate a vibrant classical school culture through assemblies, chapels, and classroom activities.

Reports to the School Administration

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong Christian faith and values, along with acceptance of the School's Statement of Faith and Staff Leadership Covenant.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or a bachelor's degree with a Teaching Certificate in the subject area preferred, or evidence of enrollment in an accredited college/university in a state-approved teacher preparation program within three years of hire.
  • Familiarity with Music curriculum and the capability to implement it effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and Administration.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and Level 2 background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in skills necessary to access information in various formats for both large groups and individual students.
  • Develop lesson plans and newsletters that align with the goals set by Administration.
  • Establish and maintain standards for acceptable student behavior and religious beliefs using appropriate techniques.
  • Impart the Family Church Christian vision, mission, and doctrinal beliefs to each student through curriculum and classroom routines.
  • Teach knowledge and skills in the music curriculum utilizing the prescribed course of study.
  • Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students with varying intellectual abilities and accommodate diverse instructional needs.
  • Evaluate each student's musical growth, performance, and understanding in relation to the level being taught; communicate with homeroom teacher and Administration regarding individual student progress.
  • Instruct students in music appreciation, harmony, and choral music as appropriate to the level being taught.
  • Adhere to Policies and Procedures as established by Administration.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Participate in all school meetings, trainings, and orientations.
  • Complete all required in-service hours on time.
  • Submit all necessary paperwork punctually.
  • Engage in prayer with students.
  • Maintain appropriate records for students.
  • Strive to continuously enhance knowledge and skills; share expertise with colleagues.
  • Coordinate music programs for school chapels, seasonal events, and graduation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
