Quality Control RT Technician

Essential Functions ...
- Prepare welded assemblies for radiographic testing, develop radiographic film, and prepare radiography reports.
- Analyzes customer and engineering product specifications to facilitate design and operation of new and modified products.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
- Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
- Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Determines testing parameters and collects and analyzes data for testing code.
- Fabricates special parts or equipment.
- Regular use of the IFS (ERP / MRP) System.
- Follow ASME Section I, Section IX and Section V code.
- Conducts qualification tests of welds and welders and maintains records.
- Provides interpretation of welding codes and specifications to production; creates welding procedures.
- Maintains statistical data for ISO quality system using Microsoft Excel software.
- Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.
- Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Support peers and management with internal and external projects.
- Adhere to company policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Physical Skill and Effort ...
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. 48” high and up to 50 lbs. overhead on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on hard cement surface and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat and climb ladders up to 8 feet high.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces as narrow as 16” in diameter.
- Will require working in areas up to 25 feet from the ground.
- Must be able to climb stairs and work in temperature ranges corresponding with the outside ambient temperatures, in welding shop environment; must be able to access all areas of the plant both inside and outside.

- Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions.
- From time to time, slightly disagreeable features; negligible/little or no exposure.
Do You Qualify ...
Education:
- High School Diploma plus AAS degree in Non Destructive Testing (NDT) preferred.
- Assistant radiographer certificate required.
Experience:
- 1 – 5 years related experience in welding, boiler or related manufacturing industry.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, and prior quality control technician experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently, read blueprints, welding symbols and follow ASME Section 1 code required.
- ASNT – TC – 1A in UT or RT experience a plus.
- Must have excellent Microsoft Office Software/computer skills; ERP/MRP experience preferred.
- 5-10 years experience developing radiographic film required.
