Controller, full-time with hybrid schedule

We have partnered with a multistate equipment dealer to hire an experienced Controller who will work closely with CFO and oversee the corporate accounting team. He or she will maintain and control the general ledger, process and record business transactions and execute month-end close, in addition to designing and implementing efficient processes and procedures and executing various routine and ad hoc financial reports for presentation to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team including an Accounting Supervisor, Staff Accountant and an Accounts Payable team
  • Preparation of general ledger entries, recording company transactions and managing balance sheet and account reconciliation
  • Manage and execute the full month-end close process and monthly financial reporting activities, including financial statements and business review analysis for presentation to senior management
  • Gather the information and perform data analysis to execute forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Manage leases and fixed assets, including depreciation schedules
  • Partner with the CFO to manage the annual budget process
  • Responsibilities include administering payroll review with ability to step in when needed as payroll backup
  • Assist with development and implementation of the internal audit function and support both internal and external audit prep work and management of audit
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to multistate locations as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA license or actively in the process of completing the CPA exam
  • 3 – 7 years of experience in public or corporate accounting (or audit)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required
