Senior Consultant Budget Analyst/Auditor– Part-time Positions - Remote


BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a part-time Senior Consultant Budget Analyst/Auditor - Remote. Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation. Indepedendent Contractors welcome.


What will you do?

As a Senior Consultant Budget Analyst/Auditor, you will provide leadership and coordination for the evaluation and redesign of current business processes. Your role will ensure the effective and efficient use of competencies, including problem-solving techniques, process improvement, strategic analysis, and systems improvement.


Responsibilities:

· Lead and coordinate evaluations and redesigns of business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

· Utilize problem-solving techniques to address and resolve business process issues.

· Conduct strategic analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements.

· Implement systems improvements to support business process enhancements.

· Manage and perform internal control reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

· Provide expertise in budget business processes, specifically in grant management.

· Understand and apply federal appropriations law, GAO Red Book, A-11, and A-123.

· Offer insights into federal Trust Funds, with a preference for experience with the Highway Trust Fund.


Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· CPA, CIA, or CGFM certification is required.

· Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in managing and performing internal control reviews.

· Strong understanding of budget business processes and grant management.

· Knowledge of federal appropriations law, GAO Red Book, A-11, and A-123.

· Positive attitude and strong communication and writing skills.

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project for preparing, editing, and finalizing reports, documents, task orders, and briefings.


Nice to Have:

· Recent experience in related government or consulting roles.

· Previous experience with large-scale federal projects or agencies.

· Master’s degree in public administration or a related field is preferred.

· Experience with federal Trust Funds, especially the Highway Trust Fund
