Position Title: Membership Service Representative Location: San Antonio
Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Branch Manager
OVERVIEW
Serve as an advocate between the owner and the credit union. Provide information by phone or in person on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for owners, resolve issues, and professionally handle the owners' daily needs with excellence. Possess a thorough knowledge of credit union products, services, and processes combined with a "can-do" attitude to ensure a positive owner experience.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Contribution to ongoing Credit Union success
- Team members are charged with providing exemplary service to the owners every day.
Essential Duties
- Establish new savings, checking, money market, share certificate, and IRA accounts
- Handle account changes at the member's direction
- Assist members in initiation Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) error resolution process (Reg E)
- Assist members with loan applications
- Prepare loan closing packages for consumer loans, business loans, credit cards and certain real estate loans
- Close loan transactions with members
- Assist teller department as needed or directed by supervisor
- Work with members to resolve complaints
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Assist in any area as requested by supervisor
- Continue to develop a working knowledge of the credit union's electronic data processing system
- Continue to develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization by-laws and operational procedures
Security/Compliance
- Complete PC training modules assigned with a minimum score of 80 percent on each module
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of credit union products and membership
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills; including telephone skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff and others
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Excellent attention to detail
- Accurate cash handling skills
- Proficient typing and calculator skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work flexible hours at management's request
- Ability to work with a high level of independence
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to sit for an extended period of time
- Must be able to utilize/view a monitor for extended period of time
- Must frequently use a keyboard to enter data
