Overview:

The HR Generalist/ Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the administration of multi-state employee benefit programs, as well as compliance with regulatory obligations. Provides technical support to employees and educates employees on benefit-related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Administration of all employee benefit programs (including integrity of benefit records for medical/dental/vision plans, ancillary, 401(k), etc.)
  • Act as liaison with all benefit vendors to insure comprehensive coverage for all employees on a national basis.
  • Work with broker to monitor claims experience for self-funded plans
  • Develop materials and conduct annual open enrollment
  • Manage wellness program and strategy.
  • Facilitate Performance Review cycles including annual and new hire reviews
  • Coordinate PCN processing between executive team, managers, and payroll
  • Complete monthly headcount reports
  • Support field service program
  • Maintain all benefit program in ADP HRIS system, audit bi-weekly payroll deductions as needed
  • Maintain online enrollment for all benefit plans with various carriers
  • Act as a resource/advocate for employees regarding claims resolution and benefit usage
  • Work with broker to research current benefit trends to insure that the benefits package is competitive in the marketplace, suggest alternative carriers and plan options
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state legislation, including but not limited to PPACA compliance: work with finance to ensure timely PCORI fee submission, 1094 and 1095 filings in ADP
  • Develop strategies to motivate and engage employees to increase beneficial health and wellness
  • Oversee COBRA administration
  • Coordinate with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to increase utilization
  • Lead projects that contribute to employee life cycle as planned within the department
  • Act as the back-up for processing payroll, when payroll coordinator is absent
  • Act as back-up for workers compensation filings
  • Create and maintain Standard Work for assigned function
  • Support and lead department continuous improvement initiatives

Perform various other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources or as an Executive Assistant, progressive HR experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate expert skills with computers as well as latest versions of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiar with HRIS systems. Able to navigate and comfortable making employee personnel file changes as needed.
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to details are required. The ability to multi-task various assignments, prioritize work, and adjust to multiple demands.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple company leaders and prioritize accordingly
  • Comfortable working under pressure and tight deadline
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate with a high level of cultural fluency and to engage diverse work groups, committees, and a wide range of global company employees, vendors and partners
  • Knowledge of government regulations to include COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships.
