Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (with travel to alternate work locations, including Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, etc.)

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the network at operational sites. This role requires a deep understanding of network design, development, and testing methodologies, as well as extensive knowledge of various networking technologies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Network Engineer for the Program.
  • Plan, deploy, integrate, and test network upgrades at operational sites.
  • Travel to remote locations to perform network installations and troubleshooting.
  • Provide regular status updates to Program personnel.
  • Collaborate with team members in a dynamic and agile environment.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology) from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 5+ years of professional experience; or 3+ years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.

Certifications:

  • IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.).

Security Clearance:

  • Government security clearance (DoD Secret – minimum, Top Secret - desired).
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Proficient in network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with firewalls (Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • Familiarity with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
  • Knowledge of multi-vendor switching/routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • This role is based in Colorado Springs, CO but requires the ability to travel to alternate work locations, including but not limited to Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, and Europe, to execute job duties such as deployments.
