Restoration Family Services, Inc. in Wichita, KS is looking for one community engagement specialists to join our 23 person strong team. We are located on 3450 N Rock Rd Suite 405. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged.

JOB TITLE: Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist (COS)

We believe that every child and family have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. We believe that true restoration and healing comes through Christ and our services and attitudes should reflect such. We believe that all individuals and families deserve the opportunity to be empowered with the skills to appropriately advocate for their family.

This non-licensed position will coordinate initiatives designed to promote Restoration Family Services and its services to the community. Community Engagement and Outreach Specialists will fulfill their job duties with an emphasis on increasing brand awareness, prospective foster parents, volunteers, businesses, other nonprofits, and communities. Specialists will participate in, host, and facilitate events, lead and the acceptance and satisfaction with the RFS brand, initiatives, services, and projects. 

Duties include the following:

Community Engagement/Recruitment:

• Meet with churches and other community members interested in partnering with RFS to host trainings and foster care presentations, provide donations, or recruit volunteers.

• Engage and recruit community members interested in fostering/adopting through RFS.

• Connect prospective foster parents to appropriate training and assist in the transition to licensing.

• Work with Community Care Advocates/Birth Families to help develop testimony presentations.

• Develop, maintain, and update all RFS marketing materials, including digital ones.

• Plan and execute community and RFS specific events. 

• Work to increase brand awareness, sparking engagement and generating leads through blogs, social media, video, and other traditional and digital marketing media, creating, improving, and maintaining content that aligns with organizational goals. Ensure proper branding and monitor content traffic, engagement, and conversions.

• Participate and facilitate public events and local media events (Including on weekends and as needed Holidays) 

• Engage in consistent communication with current and potential interested partners. 

• Must train at least 3 TIPS-MAPP classes each year.

• You must achieve departmental goals as specified by your department supervisor and RFS leadership team.


Customer Care:

• Provide exceptional customer care to RFS foster families, staff, partners, and stakeholders.

• Conduct pre-tours of homes of prospective foster home families as requested.

• Collaborate with RFS licensing and training team members.

• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and empathy for diverse people

• Maintain a high level of support and positive morale within staff.

• Exhibit the 3 agency attributes internally and externally: Humble, Hungry, Smart

• May be required to participate in and or facilitate special projects throughout the year

• Familiarize yourself with all software and technology used at RFS

• Familiarize yourself with Kansas DCF Regulations for foster homes

• Fulfill other tasks as assigned according to overall agency goals and various needs of the staff

Education:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, and public administration with 2+ years’ experience in child and family services and Non-Profit Experience. This can be adjusted based on experience or skills attributed to excelling in this position. This must be approved by the CEO/Executive Director or Associate Executive Director. Must be adept in public speaking, familiar with social media platforms, and able to learn how to utilize each social media platform effectively. 

Experience:

Previous experience in children and family services preferred. Intermediate to advanced computer skills in typing/keyboarding and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc., are required. Must learn and become proficient in the RFS client management database and other software used for services within the agency. Basic knowledge of graphic design is preferred.
