Omaha, United States OneWorld Community Health Centers Inc Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Be Inspired By the Work You Do

At OneWorld, we believe that improving patient health outcomes requires addressing the social determinants of health, such as education. For this reason, OneWorld operates the Learning Community Center of South Omaha (LCCSO). The LCCSO works with children and families to challenge the opportunity gap through early childhood education, family engagement, and future teacher preparation. Our goal is to measurably improve educational outcomes for children and families.

We are seeking a mission-driven Social Assistance Navigator to join our team

This is a full-time position based out of the Learning Community Center of South Omaha (23rd and M) also covering our Bancroft Elementary location. This position works with participant families at their homes or at the center/school and coordinates with other staff at the LCCSO. The schedule will be based off of the participants’ needs and team meetings. Working some evenings or Saturdays will be required as some of our participants work during the day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, psychology, sociology or related field required. A bachelor’s degree in social work or early childhood education is preferred.
  2. One or more years of experience in social services is preferred. Knowledge of social service resources and experience completing needs assessments and evaluations is preferred.
  1. Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish including written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
  2. Competency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, is required.
  3. Demonstrated task and detail orientation, completing and documenting visits in a timely manner.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently but still committed to the team function and overall program mission.
  5. Willingness to visit program participants in their homes is required. A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, along with a clean driving record, are required.
  6. Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish relationships with people of diverse populations and backgrounds.
  7. Demonstrated ability to generate innovative ideas to enhance our social service offerings and to connect larger numbers of participants with supportive resources.
  8. Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings.
