Our products include dentures, implants, crown and bridge, and orthodontic appliances. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic Director of Finance to join our team and drive our financial strategy.

Job Summary: The Director of Finance will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of our dental laboratory. This position requires a goal-oriented personality who thrives in a fast-paced, relaxed, yet energetic office environment. You will be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software like QuickBooks online.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company’s objectives and growth.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the executive team, including direct access to work with the CEO.
  • Create and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and other key financial reports.
  • Manage and review journal entries, bookkeeping, and overall financial accuracy.
  • Implement financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports to the leadership team.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage financial audits and collaborate with external auditors.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Optimize financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the day to day financials, including HR, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable/Payable (AR/AP), ensuring high performance and effective collaboration.
  • Look for efficiencies in expenses and implement methods for improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, including DSO and large dental group experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Finance or similar role; dental industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting tasks such as journal entries, P&L, balance sheets, bookkeeping, and experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience overseeing a finance department, including HR, Payroll, and AR, with a hands-on approach to team management.
  • Demonstrated desire to drive business growth, improve processes, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
