Senior IT Support Specialist

Position Profile

Humacyte, Inc. is bringing to market a once in a generation scientific technology platform, bioengineering readily available and universally implantable product opportunities focused on improving lives of patients and transforming the practice of medicine. Located in Durham, NC, the company develops and manufactures acellular tissues for the treatment of diseases and conditions across a wide range of therapeutic areas. The company’s innovative technology supports tissue repair, reconstruction, and replacement while overcoming limitations in existing standards of care. Initially developing a portfolio of human acellular vessels (HAVs), to target multiple vascular markets including trauma, arteriovenous access for hemodialysis, peripheral arterial disease, and coronary artery bypass grafting. Humacyte is also focused on the development of future markets such as pediatric heart surgery, delivery of cellular therapies, and multiple other novel cell and tissue systems.

We are looking for additional technically strong colleagues with intellectual curiosity, and a solutions focused mindset with the proven ability to solve problems to expand our team. Candidates will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Humacyte organization. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, with solid communication skills, and demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment and partner effectively with other professionals and peers.

Position Background:

The Senior IT Support Specialist with 5-8 years of experience in IT systems admin and support. Proficiency in cloud computing (Azure, AWS), MDM with Intune, and M365 administration is required, along with strong network skills.

Collaboration with teammates, excellent customer service, and proactive problem resolution are essential.

Responsibilities include senior-level support, infrastructure optimization, and staying updated with industry trends.

Major Accountabilities:

Under the direction of the Manager, Systems Engineering:

  • Demonstrate expertise in cloud computing platforms, particularly Azure and AWS.
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Proficient in Mobile Device Management (MDM) with a strong focus on Microsoft Intune.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft 365 (M365) administration, including but not limited to Exchange, Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Implement and manage security policies for devices and applications using Intune.
  • Possess strong networking skills and a deep understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Configure and manage Virtual LANs (VLANs) to enhance network segmentation and security.
  • Partner closely with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to address and resolve a wide range of issues, ensuring optimal performance and functionality across all IT systems and infrastructure components.
  • Provide senior-level support for IT systems, ensuring the stability and reliability of infrastructure components.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the future of IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver stellar customer service to stakeholders, ensuring needs are met promptly and effectively.
  • Extreme ownership of issues, from initial diagnosis to resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and user experience.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates and seeking collaboration as needed.
  • Accountable for managing the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of issues and serving as an escalation point for tickets and remediation when necessary.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of an associate degree in computer information technology, computer technology integration, networking technology, or a related field is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Alternatively, equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in IT Support, Security Administration or Systems Administration in a professional environment, configuring and supporting virtual and physical servers, switches, software, network connectivity, computers, and operating systems.
  • Strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills
  • ITIL Certification Preferred
  • Experience in scripting is a plus
