This position will be responsible for scheduling routine, preventative, and predictive maintenance of all the facilities and production equipment. Managing the day-to-day activities of electrical, mechanical, and controls’ technicians. Managing maintenance activities via a maintenance management software, to include forecasting and budgeting awareness and input. Being hands-on by actively assisting with repairs and troubleshooting. Must have the necessary technical skills to lead technicians in equipment repairs and provide leadership and direction to the maintenance staff. Strong interpersonal, planning, and communication skills in this key position are critical for effective collaboration with Production and Facilities departments to ensure goals, objectives, and priorities are in alignment and achieved. Safety is our number one priority; this position implements safety procedures and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and oversees staff, the preventative maintenance program, tools and resources for technical and mechanical maintenance of the equipment and systems.
  • Performs formal and on the job training and instruction of maintenance technicians regarding proper preventative maintenance methods and procedures.
  • Coordinates the escalation and resolution of major service issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Communicates clearly and effectively with customers/peers to achieve a high level of customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization.
  • Establishes key vendor relationships and actively seeks new vendor relationships when necessary.
  • Ensures that safety guidelines, regulations and compliance issues are being followed. Ensures that staff is receiving proper level of training to meet these guidelines, regulations, and compliance issues.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree in related field and 10 plus years’ experience performing remedial, preventative and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment with 5 years of related supervisory experience. In the absence of an Associate’s degree, 14 plus years’ experience performing remedial, preventative and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment with 5 years of related supervisory experience.

Primarily first shift position M-F but must be open to receiving production related phone calls and potentially coming in for remedial maintenance as necessary. Competitive wages and benefits package including health, dental, vision, ESOP, and 401(k) plan.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, grip, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, move and carry
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to use your senses of sight, touch, sound, and smell

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoor conditions and is occasionally exposed to outside elements. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold, and heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
