FAMILY LAW FIRM SEEKING EXPERIENCED ASSOCIATES


We are looking for an attorneys who have passion for helping people who are going through divorce and sometimes dealing with domestic violence, financial or custody issues. We’re looking for attorneys who can immediately provide our clients with outstanding representation and take full responsibility for case files. You must have compassion and the ability to build relationships with our clients as well as courtroom experience.


The Job

  • Demonstrate experience in taking ownership of a client's case – discovery, pleadings, motions; collaboration, and mediation; pretrial hearings, motion hearings, and trials
  • Conduct client meetings and recommend strategies
  • Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants


The Essentials

  • An attorney who can contribute to developing the strategy of a case keeping the goals of the client in mind.
  • The ability to read financial statements and information, understand equitable division and preparing parenting plans.
  • The confidence necessary to fiercely advocate your position to opposing parties and judges.
  • The ability to use good judgment when helping a client set priorities (i.e. understanding whether to spend $500 to fight with their ex over a $50 lamp).
  • The ability to do legal research and to support our client’s position.
  • The ability to work within the client’s budget and still be productive.

Compensation

  • Salary is commensurate with skill and experience. The compensation package includes base salary plus bonus compensation for production and performance. We offer paid time off as well as covering continuing legal education, license dues, and some approved voluntary bar memberships.

Compensation:

$200,000 per year DOE and satisfying KPIs

Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome
  • Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions
  • Appear in court on behalf of clients and argue motions during legal proceedings
  • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
  • Problem Solver - our clients come to you with problems and you need to ease their minds with a solution
  • Knowledge of estate planning and criminal defense is a plus.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree with 2 years of related experience
  • Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment
  • Able to work independently while handling multiple files
  • Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required
