  • Have your finger on the pulse of L.A.’s events, nightlife and cultural scenes, across a range of neighborhoods and price tiers; use your professional contacts and social networks to be the first to identify the next big thing.

  • Maintain weekly and monthly events calendars and event listings.

  • Compose a biweekly email newsletter.

  • Post quick and timely news coverage of developments about L.A. events and openings, as well as in-depth pieces full of firsthand experiences.

  • Brainstorm ideas for collaborative stories within the L.A. team.

  • Represent the brand at industry events and in media appearances.

  • Oversee any expenses, freelancer contracts and invoices for the Things to Do section.

  • Assist with Things to Do inclusion across social media.

  • Familiarity with shooting original photos and videos; editing skills are a plus.

  • Excellent grasp and understanding of SEO best practices.

  • Highest standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize accordingly.

  • The ability to write copy in line with the highest editorial standards.

  • The ability to work quickly to meet tight deadlines under pressure.

  • A strong industry reputation.

  • Flexibility and a professional approach at all times.

  • The ability to self-supervise in order to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work in and contribute to a fun and dynamic team-based environment.

  • Must be educated to degree level or equivalent industry qualifications.
