The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who will take on the management of Wastewater Treatment Plants with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope; while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with Project Engineers, General Contractors, and Developers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Coordinate Procurement activities and management of Fabricators and Vendors in support of the execution of projects.

· Responsible for Quality Assurance program of Fabricators

· Work in a team environment with Sales Estimator to ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

· Develop project installation and timeline model using Microsoft Office Project, utilize scope of work to define objectives of each milestone. Then manage entire project to meet that defined process.

· Work close with Field Supervisor to ensure resource availability and allocation.

· Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.

· Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques; change order management.

· Communicate/Report and escalate to management any issues as needed.

· Successfully manage the relationship with the General Contractor, Project Engineer, and Client.

· Implement Job Site Safety consistent with OSHA requirements, responsible for maintaining company EMR rating remain below 1.

· Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, Operate and Maintenance Manuals, Project Submittals.

· Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

· Lead: Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.

· Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.

· Work closely with accounting to create a Schedule of Values and invoice consistent with the schedule. A goal of positive cash flow on each project.

· Travel required throughout Houston as well as to Dallas, Austin, or other TX markets to be on the project sites.

Requirements:

Solid background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in managing people, processes, vendors/fabricators in a construction environment.

· Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bi-lingual in Spanish and English is strongly desired.

· Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

· Experience in Managing Project Coordinator or Project Administrative support.

· Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.

· Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.


Education/Experience:

· Preferred B.A. or B.S. in the field of engineering, construction management, or commensurate.

· Qualified work experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants or similar (water, piping, tank building/welding, utility construction).

· Proven working experience in project management in the construction industry or comparative projects requiring similar management at all levels of implementation.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Project, and Bluebeam is preferred

· Must be able to read construction blueprints

· Prefer candidates with experience with projects in the $1.5-5million size, and ability to manage 5-10 small projects at a time.

· PMP certification is a plus.

· Preferred experience with working hands-on at construction/project sites.
