Job Summary:

The Shipping and Inventory Specialist is a versatile role designed to ensure smooth operations in both inventory management and shipping processes during the 2nd shift (2 pm to 10 pm, Monday through Friday). This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing inventory counts, handling shipping and receiving duties, and supporting warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to step in and support various functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Conduct daily inventory counts of raw and finished goods for at least half of the shift.
  • Identify and adjust any discrepancies in inventory levels using inventory management systems.
  • Accurately locate and organize inventory within the warehouse to ensure efficient retrieval.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of inventory transactions and counts.

Shipping Coordination:

  • Ship customer orders as required, especially during peak periods or when the regular shipping coordinator is unavailable.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule and track shipments.

Receiving Duties:

  • Receive vendor purchase orders (POs) and accurately record incoming materials into the inventory system.
  • Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of received goods.
  • Fill in for the regular receiver when they are off, ensuring continuous receiving operations.

Warehouse Operations:

  • Stock raw materials for production as needed, ensuring timely availability for the production team.
  • Assist in getting raw materials for production when requested and fill in for the material handler during their absence.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, shipping coordination, or related roles.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within the shift.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a warehouse environment, with regular exposure to varying temperatures and physical activities such as lifting and moving materials.
  • Hours are Monday through Friday, 2 pm to 10 pm, with occasional overtime as needed.

The Shipping and Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring efficient shipping and receiving operations during the 2nd shift, contributing to the overall success of warehouse operations.
