Position Overview:

Hope Network, a respected nonprofit with over 60 years of service, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Advancement Officer (CAO). This newly created role will spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive advocacy and philanthropy strategy, establishing a network-wide culture of sustainable fundraising. The CAO will harness the impact of Hope Network’s legacy to inspire engagement and significantly enhance the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Vision:

  • Develop and implement an inspirational vision for advocacy, philanthropy, and grant-making that aligns with Hope Network’s mission, vision, values, and priorities.
  • Work with the executive team to build the strategy and organizational structure necessary to optimize long-term advocacy and fundraising results.
  • Partner with the leadership team and become the strategic fundraising and philanthropic partner to the President & CEO.

Team Building and Development:

  • Build, lead, develop, and mentor a team of talented fundraising and advocacy professionals.
  • Foster a vibrant culture of fundraising through standardized practices and compelling communication.
  • Enhance the role of the Executive Leadership Team, Service Line Leaders, and board members in raising funds for the organization.

Advocacy, Philanthropy, and Fundraising Strategy:

  • Develop new strategies to cultivate and obtain funding from a diverse pool of donors, foundations, and other funders.
  • Create and execute network-wide approaches to high-profile, integrated programs and develop transformational fundraising initiatives.
  • Oversee and facilitate strong collaboration to support Hope Network’s corporate strategy while understanding the unique funding requirements of each service line.

Operational Excellence:

  • Lead collaborative fundraising efforts, identify best practices, and provide standardized central services to streamline operations and enhance outcomes.
  • Analyze trends and data to identify opportunities and best practices, track and monitor fundraising progress, and regularly report to the leadership team and board.
  • Actively engage as a member of the Executive Leadership Team in developing and executing the organization’s strategy and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; Graduate degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible non-profit advocacy and fundraising experience.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and closing significant gifts.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience in developing donor retention and corporate relations strategies.
  • Superior leadership experience with a proven track record of developing, empowering, and managing high-performance teams.
  • Ability to create and sustain strong internal and external collaborative working relationships.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
