Accounts Payable Specialist

Pay range for this role will be commensurate with experience. $20-25/hr
In our time of growth, we are looking to add an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to our growing Lehigh Acres, FL headquarters. This is an on-site position Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
- Processes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, coding (using General Ledger codes), verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Process vendor credit applications and set them up as new vendors.
- Track material orders, credit card and fuel receipts.
- Ensures all company procedures, approval processes, and internal controls related to Accounts Payable are followed.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports.
- Monitors discount opportunities on vendor invoices
- Preparing Accounts Payable checks and ACH batches;
- Resolves purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation;
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Files and Maintains Accounts Payable Records
- Reports sales taxes payable by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed:
- Previous Accounts Payable experience is required, preferred minimum experience of 3 years
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt/adjust on the fly to company changes/additions/direction as we are in growth mode at this time
- Strong Microsoft office skills, including Excel
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to go above and beyond your job duties to assist the team when called upon. Team-first attitude a must
- Previous construction industry A/P experience not required, but a plus
