JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Housekeeper Lead

Supervisor: Executive Director or Maintenance DirectorFLSA Status: Hourly, non-exemptDate Approved: September 2021OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

Assure that the department is meeting cleanliness and orderliness of resident rooms and the Community. Cleans resident apartments and Community common areas with integrity and attention to detail to present the Community in a positive and impressive manner for our residents and guests.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 18 years old or older
  • 2-3 years prior related experience is strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Ability to perform housekeeping duties following safety and sanitation standards and current guidelines in a timely and efficient manner without compromising quality
  • Promptly communicate concerns with resident’s health and/or unsafe living conditions to management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and politely in English, both verbally and in writing, with residents, guests, and staff
  • Meets state related requirements (as applicable for position)
  • Ability to work in a team setting and be a positive team player
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional approach with coworkers and residents
  • Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential
  • Possess excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance and meeting department deadlines
  • May assist with disaster management efforts during evacuations
  • Ability to follow and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Educates and trains housekeeping staff ensuring Sunshine standards in safety, cleanliness, conduct, and customer service are met
  • Prepare schedule for housekeeping staff, including scheduling for holiday coverage, and alters as necessary
  • Provide assignments for department, including weekend housekeeping staff
  • Inventory, maintain, and order appropriate cleaning materials
  • Inspect work quality upon completion and provide final inspection prior to new move-ins
  • Cleans resident apartments and Community common areas as assigned and according to housekeeping checklist and schedule
  • Coordinate deep cleaning for resident apartments and Community common areas according to schedule
  • Daily follow up with the turning of guest suites and assigned duties, ensuring the proper function of the department
  • In conjunction with Maintenance staff, assures Community is clean and attractive. Promptly documents and reports all maintenance issues and safety hazards
  • Promptly report resident concerns or complaints to the Executive Director and work together for resolution
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Community management
  • Attends education and training classes as necessary to fulfill state or provincial regulations

OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform all work assigned for the agreed-upon salary, accepting no additional payment or non-perishable gifts from residents, vendors, Community management, or others
  • Meet the assigned work requirements of the job, regular attendance is required
  • Serve as a role model for all employees by displaying a responsible, cooperative, and positive attitude
  • Represent the Community in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner
  • Adhere to dress/appearance code. Changes in attire may be dictated by special occasion or weather conditions. If you have questions, check with your supervisor
  • Adhere to company and safety policies and procedures. Wears appropriate PPE when necessary
  • Promote resident advocacy and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times
  • Attend education and training classes as necessary to fulfill state or provincial regulations applicable to the position
  • Maintain personnel, resident, and business proprietary and/or confidential matters/material in strict confidence with management of the company (and/or other company staff as needed)
