Position Summary
The Assistant Professor of Computer Science position is a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, computer information systems, and related fields.
- Develop an active, externally funded research program.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Serve on departmental and institutional committees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Desired areas of expertise and skill include one or more of the following: cybersecurity, project management, systems development, database systems, network communications, or advanced programming techniques (including secure coding and algorithms).
- Ability to teach a diverse student body.
- Ability to establish an externally funded research program to incorporate undergraduate students.
Education and Experience
- Masters degree. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field is required, Ph.D. is preferred.
- Prior experience engaging diverse undergraduate students is preferred.
- Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience, a record of grantsmanship, and a desire to serve in a student-centered University.
