Job Summary:

 Join a dynamic financial department within Montana’s largest non-profit home health and hospice organization. The Staff Accountant I assists the Controller with general accounting tasks for five service lines.  Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures are vital to success in the role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Reconcile and Deposit for AP/AR accounts as directed.
  2. Prepares journal entries, month-end financials, and close outs.
  3. Assist Controller with monthly auditing, reports and statements as requested.
  4. Prepares reports and analyses as directed.
  5. 401K and insurance benefit deductions in collaboration with HR.
  6. Prepare, coordinate, and submit 401K HSA/FSA deferrals with third party vendors.
  7. AP processing of invoices within Concur software.
  8. Cash posting within accounting systems.
  9. Trained as back up to Controller for payroll.
  10. Support Controller with budget analyses.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Technology Utilized:

SAP ByDesign, Concur, Home Care Home Base, Microsoft Office (Excel a must), CareTend, UKG



Qualifications

 

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Additional education in accounting is highly recommended.


Experience:


  • 1 to 3 years’ related experience required.
  • A 4-year degree in a related field may be substituted for experience.
  • Knowledge and application with computerized accounting or business systems and spreadsheets.
  • Experience utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Healthcare background and understanding highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel.

 

 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

 Work is performed in a sedentary office environment.  Work involves frequent sitting and standing, with occasional bending and stooping.  The position also includes frequent use of a keyboard, and use of hands to finger, handle, and feel.  Work requires the ability to focus at close distances.  Occasional light lifting may be necessary.
