About the Position

The Sr. Project Coordinator, Construction will play an integral role in the daily operations of the company and contribute to its overall success. This position will support the Development and Construction Department.

The ideal candidate is a person who is willing to learn, and problem solve to achieve desired project goals. This individual can work independently, demonstrates reliability, pro-activeness, and strong communication skills while maintaining professionalism in the face of deadlines.

The Sr. Project Coordinator, Construction will perform the responsibilities generally described below, as well as any additional duties as needed to support the overall objectives of the company:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of assigned projects
  • Perform site safety walks, promoting safe work practices
  • Thoroughly review project documentation and reporting to be familiar with all requirements
  • Support construction team with applications/submission of deferred submittals
  • Understands inspection processes and can assist contractor(s) with scheduling of inspections
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of project schedules
  • Identify and communicate project risks
  • Understands and can demonstrate construction processes and sequence knowledge
  • Understands the monthly payment application draw process, review process, and ensure accuracy of progress billings
  • Able to attend weekly OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings and perform job walks as owner's representative
  • Able to prioritize project deliverables across multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Develop maintain jurisdictional relationships to support project success
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
  • Assist with tracking and coordinating contracts including the subconsultant bid process and anticipates change orders
  • Uphold EPD core values in everyday interactions with internal and external partners

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience and a bachelor's in a related field preferred; or a combination of equivalent education and work experience required
  • Experience in reading technical reports, construction and design drawings, and municipal codes required
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements related to site safety
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Proven interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication and emotional intelligence
  • Passion for learning all aspects of development and construction including CEQA and technical studies
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with development related software (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and/or Bluebeam) required
