Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)

About JYG Innovations

JYG Innovations (JYG) is a professional solutions and services company focused on providing innovative and exceptional service in the Defense, State/Local and Commercial sectors. With a primary focus on IT Solutions, Cyber Security, Research and Analysis, and Medical/Clinical Staffing, JYG continues to receive exceptional customer satisfaction surveys due to the outstanding technical expertise and performance of its employees and strategic partners.

Location: Eglin, Air Force Base Florida

Employment: Full Time

Start Date: January 2024

Benefits: JYG offers exceptional benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, 401(k) and semi-monthly direct deposit.

What you will be doing:

As a BMET you will ensure high-quality treatment for patients by installing, maintaining, and repairing medical equipment. You work diligently to meet all monthly work order completion standards. Independently, you perform a wide range of calibration and preventative maintenance on medical equipment and verify correct calibration.

With a commitment to accuracy and great attention to detail, you document all maintenance actions in the defense medical logistics standard support (DMLSS) database and update the equipment's historical maintenance records. You maintain publications and technical reference files as well as equipment safety, inspection, modification, and warranty files. You also prepare and post transactions to the repair parts inventory system.

To ensure that your work meets quality assurance standards, you review work order notes daily, conduct tests to determine consistency with technical specifications, and analyze recurring malfunctions to recommend corrective actions. You regularly analyze layout drawings, technical specifications, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and operating characteristics of biomedical equipment and its support systems. Using your in-depth knowledge, you devise new maintenance, inspection, operation, repair, and calibration procedures to improve efficiencies.

Safety is your top priority. You will carefully inspect and test biomedical, patient-related nonmedical equipment systems, supporting utility systems, and specialized environmentally controlled areas of the medical facility for compliance with electrical and patient safety standards. When you identify equipment and support systems that fail to meet safety standards, you initiate corrective actions and inform medical personnel of possible safety hazards. You also consult with medical personnel about how to safely operate the equipment. You feel great about the work you do to ensure the safe and proper function of biomedical equipment and systems
