Summary

Supervises the overall functions of warehouse, such as shipping and receiving, inventory control, issue materials, put away materials and track in ERP system.


Essential Functions (mental & physical)

  • Oversee receiving, warehousing and distribution
  • Supervise inventory control

  • Supervise material issue and put
  • Complies with Sterling Foods food safety procedures, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for
  • Achieves financial objectives by assisting in preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective

Non-Essential Functions

  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Seven (10) direct
  • Maintains warehouse results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job

Equipment Used

  • Forklift
  • Pallet jack
  • Other warehouse equipment as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College or technical school (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of warehouse experience to include supervisory experience



Employee Safety

  • Ability to supervise warehouse staff across shifts
  • Computer skills, to include Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (i.e. SAP, Ross, Oracle, )
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong customer service skills (internal and external)
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to Multi task
