Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to represent a Physician Owned Laboratory in Raleigh, NC who seeks a Lab Manager who will also as a Technical Consultant for their large, independent, multi-specialty medical group. This is a working lab manager who will be running tests in addition to management duties.

With more than 45 years in practice, the client realizes there is more to quality health care than state-of-the-art medicine. In today's complex medical environment, their internists like to keep things simple: They provide the finest personalized health care with tailored treatments focused on each stage of a patient's adult life. As part of their patient care and service this medical practice is adding in-house laboratory services.

About the Role

The position requires a dynamic Lab Manager to provide expert guidance and support in setting up and managing all laboratory operations, testing, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and staff management and training. This role is critical to ensuring the laboratory meets and exceeds industry standards and delivers accurate and timely results for patient care.

Position Overview

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for laboratory operations, including test selection, method validation, and troubleshooting.

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results through regular review and quality control measures.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure the laboratory complies with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including CLIA and other accrediting bodies.
  • Prepare and assist in regulatory inspections and proficiency testing.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance and quality control programs to maintain the highest standards of laboratory testing.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous quality improvement.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and continuing education for laboratory staff on new techniques, protocols, and equipment.
  • Mentor and support laboratory personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Operational Support:

  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and methodologies to enhance laboratory services.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Director and other stakeholders to optimize laboratory workflows and efficiency.

Other duties as assigned by the medical team and Lab Director.


Candidate Profile

  • B.S. in Biology, Clinical Lab Science, or related field
  • Qualify as testing personnel under CLIA guidelines and have at least 2 year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing
  • Supervisory Experience strongly preferred
  • Project Management and Core Lab Experience essential
  • MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent preferred

Salary/Benefits/Schedule

  • $80-100K/year Depending on Experience
  • Full-Benefits including medical, dental, short and long term disability, 401K with company match, paid holidays and a generous vacation package
  • 1st shift, M-F
