Position Summary:

The Adult Services Director will be responsible for ensuring seamless program delivery, quality control and evaluation, promotion of programs to funders and participants and overall success of client direct care services delivered through each of the Adult Day Service sites at Caring Connection.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership

  1. Initiate and set goals for the Adult Day Services programs according to the strategic objectives of Caring Connection.
  2. Cultivate relationships with funding partners to ensure continued support.
  3. Serve as a key member of Caring Connection’s Leadership Team, and coach and mentor the Adult Day Services team members.
  4. Work with community to build referral base for new clients and participants.
  5. Review and recommend policy modifications as needed.
  6. Develop and implement Quality Improvement Projects.


Administrative

  1. Assists in providing information for grants/contract applications.
  2. Participates in organization-wide fundraising events as assigned.
  3. Participates in professional associations and community collaborative committees related to program.


Personnel

  1. Assists in hiring and recruiting team members.
  2. Oversees job-specific orientation and training to newly hired team members.
  3. Oversees annual trainings required for team members.


Team Management

  1. Assist with recruiting, hiring and overseeing the training and orientation of Managers and direct care team members.
  2. Provide guidance, direction and empowerment for Managers to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance.
  3. Implement a professional development program to assist Managers in addressing employee experience and skill gaps.
  4. Work with Managers to develop objective employee performance measurements across the Adult Day Services programs to ensure ongoing, consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all team members.
  5. Work in collaborations with Director of Quality and Compliance to maintain compliance, client intake, risk management, quality assurance, and safety, for the Adult Day Service Programs.
  6. Assist with funder audit preparations; be present on site for audits.
  7. Lead Plan of Correction development as required.


Finance

  1. Assist in the preparation of an annual operating budget for each the Adult Day Services Programs.
  2. Oversee that monthly expenses for each Adult Day Services program remain within budget.
  3. Assist with the applications for program funding are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis.
  4. Train and assist Managers in completing required program funder reports.
  5. Assist in rate development and negotiate rates with providers

Program

  1. Have primary responsibility for Participant intake, Assessment and Planning.
  2. Acts as a liaison with Area Agency on Aging, CareWell Services Southwest, Veterans Administration, Van Buren Community Mental Health, Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Adult Day Services Association, TRIAD and other groups as necessary.

Community Outreach

a) Maintain communication with and promote Manager participation in professional associations and community collaborative committees related to Adult Day Services.

b) Attend Caring Connection fundraising events and division specific events as needed

c) Facilitate presentations to community groups in collaboration with the Adult Day Services Managers and key personnel appointed by the Chief Strategy Officer.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance

  1. Ensure the Adult Day Services operations and activities adhere to applicable funding regulations, accreditation requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
  2. Maintains knowledge of industry standards for Adult Day Services.
  3. Prepares and presents The Adult Day Services reports to Caring Connection Board of Directors.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Demonstrated leadership skills including strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching and retaining individuals and teams.
  2. Ability to complete multiple duties and tasks correctly and on time without being prompted.
  3. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  4. Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool.
  5. Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics as defined by Adult Foster Network, AFN.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.


Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration or related area is preferred.
  2. One (1) years of team management experience preferred or other equivalent experience.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  1. Valid Driver’s License, a working motor vehicle, and proof of current vehicle insurance.
  2. Undergo background check with no recent felony convictions and no abuse/neglect convictions.
  3. Pass a pre-employment Drug Screen.
  4. Negative TB Assessment upon hire as required by Caring Connection.
  5. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
