 Job Brief: Service Technician L3 is currently our most experienced position for our field technicians. This role performs independent field work and/or supervises others, manages small to large jobs, visits customers to gather information to complete proposals, understands and is competent with hydronic and steam systems and related equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Install new equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Maintain and repair customer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot various equipment and components.
  • Perform cleaning and inspection of customer equipment.
  • Capable of working with various controls to program and diagnose.
  • Use diagnostic and setup tools on customer equipment. (combustion, draft, electrical, water test)
  • Perform various construction type work (form concrete pads, remove wall material for passthrough, patchwork, paint...)
  • Help maintain accurate and complete reports on customer equipment.
  • Enter work orders, purchase orders and other information on web-based database.
  • Gather, transport and organize material and tools required on jobs.
  • Maintain equipment, vehicles and stock as required.
  • Guide and train team members.
  • Support in maintaining inventory and shop consumables.
  • Assemble job quotes.
  • Lead assigned projects.

 

Requirements

  • Customer service minded and professional.
  • High School, G.E.D., or Vocational School Degree
  • At least three years working on boilers and industrial equipment. No boiler/burner experience listed on your resume will automatically disqualify you in this role.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Mechanical aptitude, advanced electrical, plumbing, and construction experience.
  • Must be able to travel, starting at office, throughout Indiana daily and work in varying locations.
  • Must be able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The team member is frequently required to sit. The team member is occasionally required to taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attitude to learn.
  • Self-motivated, teamwork, and communication skills are a must.

 

While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; explosives and vibration. The team member is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
