We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Pittsboro Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our medication dispensing process.

Responsibilities:

• Medication Order Processing: Accurately read and interpret physician's medication orders to ensure timely and accurate dispensing.
• Medication Filling and Dispensing: Assist in filling, processing, and dispensing medications to patients, adhering to strict quality control measures.
• Medication Re-packaging and Labeling: Re-package and label medications in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company protocols.
• Inventory Management: Help maintain the drug inventory through effective inventory control practices, ensuring that medications are stored and handled properly.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
• Triage and Prioritization: Triage requests and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays.
• Medication Expiration Monitoring: Regularly check for expiration dates on medications to ensure that only valid and safe medications are dispensed.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematics skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, are essential for accurate medication calculations.
• Computer and Keyboarding Skills: Effective computer and keyboarding skills are necessary for efficient data entry and record-keeping.
• Pharmacy Information Systems: Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems is required to accurately process and manage medication orders.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
