NOVA Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level or junior Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our team in the Fort Lauderdale, FL office. We are looking for recent Civil Engineering graduates or Civil/Geotechnical Engineers who have taken one Soil Mechanics class. Assignments usually include one or more of the following:

  • Developing geotechnical scopes of work, field logging, field inspections, field investigations, and overseeing drill rig operations
  • Geotechnical calculations, and preparation of reports
  • Responsible for preparing project proposals, managing projects, and interfacing directly with clients

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • 0-3 year of civil/geotechnical engineering experience
  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Geological Engineering required (or similar)
  • Must have an EI / EIT license in the US and/or be able to attain licensure within 3 months
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills and leadership ability
  • Availability and willingness to travel (primarily throughout south Florida)
