Geologist Job Description

UES is seeking a skilled Geologist to deliver comprehensive geotechnical services to our clients in Fort Worth. As a Geologist, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing field explorations, laboratory testing, and data analysis to provide geotechnical reports and recommendations to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions.
  • Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations effectively.
  • Perform field investigations for construction projects.
  • Assist project professionals with project execution, proposal, and report preparation.
  • Execute smaller to complex projects.
  • Coordinate required testing/sampling with drill crews and assist with field activities as necessary.
  • Interpret field data and assign laboratory testing.
  • Communicate results of field and laboratory testing, and geotechnical recommendations, to clients.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Assist with field activities during construction (occasional travel to job sites within Texas and surrounding states).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in civil engineering or geology from an ABET or accredited four-year college or university.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time is highly desired.
  • Preferred experience in solar energy or renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with modern office tools, including computer-based programs such as gINT, SLOPE/W, VOLFLO, gSTABL, SLIDE, Microsoft Excel, LPILE, etc.
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
