Position Overview:
As an HR & Payroll Specialist at DRV, you will play a pivotal role during an exciting and transformative period as we are implementing an HRIS system. You will oversee payroll management, benefits administration, and the onboarding process for new employees. Your contributions will also extend to assisting with talent acquisition, employee record maintenance, and various HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes that are fundamental to DRV's thriving workforce. Status: Salary, Exempt
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm with some hours outside of regular business hours to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Previous Payroll experience required.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, and handle multiple responsibilities without compromising quality.
  • Strong advocate for work-life balance, with a demonstrated history of managing workload efficiently while maintaining clear boundaries between work and personal time.
  • Experience in managing stress and maintaining composure in fast-paced environments, ensuring sustained productivity and well-being.
  • Skilled in task delegation and collaboration, ensuring that workload is managed effectively across the team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to set and maintain clear boundaries regarding work hours and takes proactive steps to disconnect and recharge outside of work.
  • Proficient in using task management tools and techniques to stay organized, prioritize effectively, and manage workload.
  • Positive attitude and finds satisfaction in helping others.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruitment and hiring.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Management:

  • Accurate bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Maintain employee payroll records with confidentiality.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and issues.
  • Prepare and submit government payroll reports.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll and employment laws.

Employee Records:

  • Update electronic employee records.
  • Respond to employee queries promptly.
  • Stay compliant with labor legislation changes.

Benefits Administration:

  • Reconcile benefit payroll deductions.
  • Administer health and life insurance programs.
  • Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages.
  • Lead benefits administration for new hires and ongoing employees.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

New Hire Orientation:

  • Ensure timely completion of new hire payroll paperwork.
  • Conduct engaging new hire orientation sessions.

Time Management and Flexibility:

  • Effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

HR Support:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of HR on policies, procedures, initiatives, and projects.
  • Assist with employee record maintenance.
  • Support the implementation and integration of a new HRIS system and adapt to its evolving functionalities.
