Senior Control Valve Mechanic

We are looking to hire a Senior Control Valve Mechanic to support all our clients within the New York Metropolitan area, this role will be based out of our Allendale, NJ headquarters.

Since 1933, Control Associates along with its global process automation business partner, Emerson Automation Solutions, specializes in supporting the process control equipment and service needs of the following industries: Biotech, Chemical, Food & Beverage, HVAC, Hydrocarbon Processing, Natural Gas Distribution & Transmission, Oil Refining, Pharmaceutical, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, Water & Wastewater Treatment

Role: SCVM is a skilled tradesperson who works onsite in our client factories and power plants. She/He is responsible for maintenance, enhancements and repair of complex control valves that are installed and in operation within a customer facility. She/He will interact regularly with customers and co-workers, thus strong people skills, and the ability to be a clear communicator is required. A valid Driver’s License is required. The ability to do some travel within the Tri-state NYC area is also required.

Required

  • Must have 5+ years’ experience in the safe disassembly, inspection, evaluation, and repair of complex control valves and their instrumentation which operate within a customer site is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Join an existing team which provides client-site field services for control systems, control valves, instrumentation, on-off valves, actuators, and regulators at customer sites or in Control Associates’ repair facility. Assist in providing Installed Base Services for Emerson and other manufacturers at customer sites, or in Control Associates facility.
  • Perform Control Associates Valve Automation and Distribution Center work including the assembly, modification, calibration and testing of control valves, automated on-off valves and regulators as required.
  • Complete on-site troubleshooting and/or remote diagnostics of valves and instrumentation using ValveLink or AMS diagnostic software tools to determine overall health of the equipment when required.
  • Repair, rebuild or replace malfunctioning control system components in accordance with factory specifications as required.
  • Replace malfunctioning control valves, automated on-off valves, regulators, and instrumentation in accordance with factory specifications.
  • Prepare Field Service Reports documenting parts repaired or replaced, and services performed.
  • Prepare calibration documentation including as-found/as-left calibration records, parts repaired or replaced, and other services performed as required by the customer.
  • Must be able to operate independently.
  • Be available when required for performing emergency services after normal working hours Monday – Friday, as well as weekends and public holidays.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Field Services.
