Senior Accountant Job Description

Control Associates Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Allendale, NJ. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing the accounting process, ensuring compliance with general accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions, reviewing account reconciliations from subledger to General Ledger.
  • Oversee company ledgers and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with general accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform daily and monthly Bank reconciliations, as well as inter-company transactions within the accounting system.
  • Prepare for audit and review, recording project revenue and working with the project team to understand project timing and cost.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reports, payroll journal entries, and internal controls matrices, documentation, and internal testing.
  • Calculate and timely file sales and municipal tax returns for multiple jurisdictions, remitting sales, municipal, and corporate tax payments, and maintaining tax calendars.
  • Reconcile sales, municipal, and corporate tax accounts, and learn IFS, our ERP tool, assisting with training other employees on IFS.
  • Process improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting with responsibilities including the general ledger and financial reporting required.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • Lead Accounting experience within a B2B required.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including prior experience with an ERP system, Advanced Excel, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent analytical and meticulous skills required, with the ability to succeed as an individual, and at the same time excel in a team environment.
  • Prior customer service experience including complaint resolution and problem solving required.
