With students, you:
- Deliver excellent student supervision consistent with the age and abilities of students
- Set and hold high expectations for academics and behavior
- Develop trusting, authentic relationships with students and their families
- Create and maintain a joyful, safe, structured, and engaging school and classroom culture
- Demonstrate passion for the content area you teach
- Encourage students to take risks and learn from their mistakes
- Create opportunities for students to leverage the power of their voice
Whole School Responsibilities:

Instructional Responsibilities:
- As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for teaching lessons to students for one to five periods per day while the host teacher is away from their classroom.
- Invictus will provide all substitutes with two full days of paid training, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities.
- During the course of the school year, you will have the opportunity to teach different subjects and grade levels, an excellent launchpad for someone interested in becoming a full-time teacher in the future.

Position Details:
- This is an on call, hourly position. The hourly substitute rate is $40 per hour. The hours are:
- Monday, Tuesday, & Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm
- Wednesday & Thursdays: 8:00am-2:40pm
- All days may require supervision responsibilities during classroom transitions.
- For planned absences, we will schedule substitute assignments in advance. For unexpected absences, we will either call the evening prior or the day of by 7:30am.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Earned Bachelor’s Degree.
- You are excited to be part of the teaching profession in California public schools and a member of the Invictus community.
- You have or can obtain a Valid 30-day Emergency Substitute Permit or have other Valid CA Teaching Credential.

- You are able to start immediately and can be available on call.
- All employees must pass a background check and be free of TB risk factors.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Our ideal candidate has at least three years of teaching experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is on-site. The employee must have sufficient mobility to report to campus, work in a classroom, and engage with students, with or without reasonable accommodations. The employee may be required to do light lifting, pushing/pulling, and bending, with or without accommodations. The employee must possess the ability to communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, with or without reasonable accommodations.
