The Senior Accountant will be a key player in our finance team, bringing expertise in bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll processing, and ready to manage the monthly accounting closes and other processes. This role is designed for someone who is not only skilled in accounting practices but is also a technology enthusiast, keen on leveraging software to streamline financial operations. Experience in the restaurant industry will be highly regarded. Familiarity with Restaurant 365 and multiple point-of-sale (POS) systems will set you apart. Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reports.
  • Provide analysis of financial data to identify trends, advise on financial performance, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate record keeping of transactions. Manage financial records in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Efficiently manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and maintaining supplier relations.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, reporting to the Director of Finance and the Director of Human Resources.
  • Manage AP and Payroll, and any related entries in Restaurant 365.
  • Utilize Restaurant 365 and various POS systems to optimize financial operations. Continually seek ways to improve back-office efficiency and operational effectiveness through the adoption of new technologies.
  • Manage the fixed asset module in R365.
  • Assist in developing compliance with all statutory requirements related to finance, including tax filings and reporting.
  • Updating internal monthly financial statements and communicating with an outside CPA.
  • Control of local finance systems and processes.
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparing and delivering C-level reports.
  • Compilation of any ad hoc reports and information requests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional corporate team.
  • Willing to learn on the job from the Director of Finance to accelerate your career.

  • Finds excitement in streamlining and systematize vendor communication electronic invoice receipts as well as vendor portal log-ins and AP management.
Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent qualification is a bonus.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, with a significant portion in the restaurant industry or a related private sector preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, with experience in Restaurant 365 preferred.
  • Experienced with multiple POS systems, demonstrating an understanding of their integration into financial systems.

Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Time divided between desk work and meetings.
  • Some travel required between restaurants.
