You will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, loading/ unloading frequently, and following directions from your supervisor. To do well in this role you should be physically fit, reliable, a team player, and a hard worker.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience as a craftsman in Industrial Construction.
Knowledge of hand tools is required.
Must be willing to work with and around insulation including installation as needed.
Experience supporting welders in the power industry is a plus.
TWIC Card, Basic Plus, or OSHA 10 preferred.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screen - No felonies within the last 7 years.
Must be at least 21 years old.
High School Diploma/GED.
Must be available to travel continuously throughout the US to jobs (IAFD pays for travel).
Responsibilities:
Perform grinding, drilling, bolting joints, insulation (ceramic & fiberglass) belts, steel plating, metal studs, etc.
Must be able to read tape measure & able to calculate piping diameters.
Learn to install, drill out, bolt on & splice expansion joints.
Must be able to exhibit on day one your ability to operate various power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, grinders, impact guns, and hydraulic jacks.
Work on elevated surfaces such as scaffolding, on top of units, in boiler systems, 100+ feet, and in confined spaces.
Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
The ability to accurately read a measuring tape, follow written/verbal instructions, and communicate with coworkers positively.
Can communicate effectively with team members, management, and supervisors.
Working Conditions:
This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking constantly. May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 100 lbs. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
