Pantry Aid Job Description:

The Pantry Aide is responsible to provide cooking, cleaning, laundry and other household chores for residents.  The Pantry Aide must have excellent communication, organization, and time management skills to ensure the efficient delivery of care. Working under the supervision of a charge nurse, the pantry aide must be able to follow the individual care plan and document all activities according to current policies and procedures.

Pantry Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers care by following Epworth Villa and Oklahoma’s Standards of Practice for Health Care.
  • Observes and is alert to each elder’s condition and provides timely reports regarding changes in elder’s behavior, appearance, and physical ability to the Charge Nurse.
  • Individualized elder care includes but is not limited to pantry and food preparation, bussing tables, refilling drinks, clearing and re-setting counter or tables and cleaning dining room area and kitchen, serve meals in a gracious and courteous manner.
  • Additional care training including but not limited to Safety, Teamwork, Aging and Illness, Communication, Nutrition, Spirituality and Dying, Quality of Life, Dementia, Family Dynamics, Culture Change and Restorative Aid. 
  • Attends all in-service education required by Epworth Villa.
  • Performs other duties as required.  

Pantry Aid Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must have ability to speak, read and write English when communicating with residents, resident families and co-workers.
  • Must be able to lift or occasionally exert 50 to 100 pounds of force.
  • Ability to prep, cook, and serve meals.
