We are looking for a highly motivated, independent individual with a focus on providing quality customer service to join our team as a Communications Technician. As a Communications Technician, your responsibilities will include installing, upgrading, and servicing all aspects of Solarus commercial and residential services. This position directly supports Solarus and its customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure problem-solving situations. You will be joining a close-knit group of Technicians who share great camaraderie.


As a Technician, a typical day might include:
• Perform installations, maintenance, and repair of broadband services, cable service, telephone lines, subscriber carrier systems and access products, customer-owned equipment, security camera and home monitoring systems, drop wires, and network interface devices.

• Install and maintain fiber and copper facilities.

• Restore or repair service-affecting issues and complete associated forms and reports.
• Consulting directly with customers to ensure their needs are met.


Working Conditions:
• Exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, contaminants, cold, noise, vibration, wetness.
• Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and all times of the day or night.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, sit, climb, bend, grasp, work above head and lift and carry up to 70 pounds.


The Preferred Candidate Will Possess:
• Education: An associates degree in IT/Telephony and/or two or more years’ equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of basic electronics, spec sheets, circuit diagrams, telecommunications plant equipment - including operations and maintenance, telephone install and repair, and local exchange distribution network facilities.

• An appetite for learning and adapting to new equipment, technology, and platforms.
• Aptitude to evaluate, test, and install sophisticated equipment.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Live within 30 minutes of our warehouse.
• Ability to work scheduled weekends and holidays, overtime, and call-outs.
