Minimum requirements:
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with management & colleagues.
- Must have computer/data entry skills and basic skills in Microsoft office products.
- Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.
- This is a safety sensitive position. We do preemployment drug tests, including THC.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Food Science is preferred, but not required.
- FSCPA certification is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand/sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
- Must be able to perform visual, olfactory and sensory tasks.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
- Filler Sanitation Verification of fillers.
- Sample setup, testing, interpretation, and reporting.
- Document review.
- Support the Sites Food Safety Systems.
- Provide GMP guidance.
- Ensure Smith Brothers Farms produces safe, quality, and legal food.
- Maintain constructive working relationships with all coworkers, manager, customers, and business partners.
- Clock in correctly using the timeclock system daily.
- Practice and support all Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Chemical Handling procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Safety is an essential function of every position. Wear appropriate safety gear always. Be aware of your surroundings. Report all near misses, on the job injuries and safety concerns.
- Maintains current Good Manufacturing Practices and notifies supervisor of potential food safety issues.
- Perform all other duties when requested or as assigned.
