  • Log and track information on multiple projects simultaneously using organized systems.
  • Manage teams of architects, engineers, and other design professionals.
  • Foster the professional growth of junior planning professionals.
  • Conduct research on planning, zoning, permits, and environmental clearances.
  • Work with private project applicants to support real estate goals and profitable investment.
  • Business development activities including proposal preparation and contract management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and manage projects and people.
  • Recent experience preparing Specific Plans.
  • Proficiency in MS Word with ability to write and format clear and concise planning documents.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience working for a consulting firm.
  • Strong understanding of relationships between Specific Plans and land use entitlements to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance process.
  • Experience and comfort making public presentations and leading community engagement activities.
  • Effective results-driven project management skills, with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Desire to excel in a professionally-challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to working from Irvine, CA or San Diego, CA
  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree; preferably in urban planning, land use design, public administration, or project management.
