We are seeking a Coordinator of Student Engagement for Programming and Activities who will report to the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement within the Center for Student Engagement, the Coordinator is responsible for supervising the development and administration of student activities, community services initiatives, civic engagement efforts, training and advising of the student government association (SGA) and serves as an administrative advisor to all clubs/registered student organizations.

Example of Duties:

  • Plan, organize, evaluate, and coordinate a comprehensive student activities program for the ever-evolving community college student.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for the SGA.
  • Supervise Center for Student Engagement part time staff.
  • Assist with inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and community members related to all student activities processes and operations.
  • Review, coordinate and approve all student clubs’ activities and provide training and support for club advisors.
  • Identify vendors and negotiate the best possible contract for student related events under the guidance of the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement with all fiscal planning and management for student engagement, including operations and personnel matters.
  • Prepare and manage the annual student activities budget.
  • Serve as a competent academic advisor to special populations such as SGA student leaders and club/registered student organization leaders.
  • Research, plan, and coordinate internal and external community services opportunities for PCCC students.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate civic engagement experiences to prepare PCCC students to engage with civic/democratic processes in their community.
  • Explore external funding/grant opportunities to supplement institutional funding of Programming & Activities initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics & Recreation to provide recreational activities, programs, and support for PCCC students.
  • Support Commencement activities in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs.
  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate current scope of services offered in the Center for Student Engagement.
  • Plan, implement and coordinate new programs under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement and in coordination with other divisional and college-wide efforts.
  • Work to promote the model of one campus, three locations as it relates to the student engagement experience.
  • Serve as Student Engagement representative for division-wide and college-wide initiatives.
  • Participates in professional organizations and collaborates with state affinity groups and regional organizations to pursue and enhance student development and enrollment initiatives.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in student development, student personnel services, education, or related field. (Required)
  • At least two years of progressive leadership and administrative work experience in student activities. (Required)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (Required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with student information systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications. (Required)
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as assigned. (Required)
  • Knowledge and experience in student development theories, budgets, and program development. (Required)
  • Prior work experience in higher education, preferably at a community college. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using varied social media platforms in a professional manner. (Preferred)
  • Bilingual. (Preferred)
