You are an expert in drawing creation and design using AutoCAD Electrical (not AutoCAD). Your honed experience in the energy/power/automations industry will set you up for success to be able to recommend and select the best electrical components for the FESS. Responsibilities
  • Design and creation of electrical systems for power generation and storage, including selection and specification of hardware required.
  • Utilize your mastery of AutoCAD Electrical to create detailed and accurate electrical schematics that strictly adhere to industry standards and company design guidelines.
  • Perform, understand and interpret essential design calculations to verify component selection and ensure proper functionality within the overall system.
  • Partner with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to identify and select the most suitable electrical components for new products, considering factors like cost, performance, availability, and project goals.
  • Testing and commissioning of the equipment to ensure all systems are functioning as expected and designed to adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Actively participate in design reviews, presenting your technical expertise on electrical component selection and offering valuable insights.
  • Perform thermal and load distribution calculations for control cabinet, motor control center, power cabinet with rectifiers etc.
  • Knowledge of PLC and ability to perform factory acceptance test (FAT) and commissioning with PLC automated system.
  • Create project documentation.
  • Perform simulations for assigned projects.

Experience You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field. This can be replaced by additional, relevant years of experience (5+ years of experience).
  • 4+ years of experience as an Electrical Component Engineer or similar role working in the energy/power or automations industry.
  • Proven expertise using AutoCAD Electrical (not AutoCAD) with the ability to create detailed and error-free electrical schematics.
  • Solid understanding of electrical schematics symbols and industry-standard conventions.
  • Excellent proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

This position is based in Utah. The role is hybrid remote and requires occasional onsite work in Springville and South Salt Lake warehouse locations (air conditioned and non air conditioned).

Physical Requirements
  • Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
  • Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
  • Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must report to work with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
