We are urgently hiring Pulp Machine Operators on both the day and night shifts, for one of the areas largest manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for converting raw materials into finished goods. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply today for immediate consideration.

Day Shift: 5am - 5pm Monday through Thursday, Night Shift: 5pm - 5am Monday through Thursday

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company safety and quality policies at all times.
  • Follow established ISO work instructions as applicable.
  • Complete tasks using specified machinery and equipment within the allotted time.
  • Monitor and complete all pulp-related documentation.
  • Oversee materials to minimize scrap and waste; process scrap material for recycling.
  • Maintain work area and equipment according to established 5S standards.
  • Control and monitor all functions of mechanical operations; operate machinery per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Meet KPI goals as defined by management.
  • Perform general machine maintenance and tool changeovers as required.
  • Ensure quality by weighing, checking, and monitoring products before and after curing.
  • Ensure all employees follow safety and quality standards; report issues to the Production Manager.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to support business goals.
  • Train under supervision until deemed fully capable; meet production line rates and expectations once trained.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; or one year of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Proficiency in basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions; solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Special skills in time management, communication, multitasking, meeting deadlines, analytical aptitude, mathematical competence, teamwork, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles; occasionally exposed to electrical shock risk.
  • Exposure to extreme cold, heat, humid conditions, and machine vibrations.
  • The noise level is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands; frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear; occasionally required to sit.
