Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAssociate AttorneyAbout the Client:Our client, a well-established law firm based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The firm has a robust defense practice in healthcare, employment, corporate, transactional, estate planning, and worker's compensation, providing excellent legal services to clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.Position:We are assisting our client in hiring an Associate Attorney. This role offers a salary of $80K-$95K, dependent on experience (DOE).Responsibilities:Legal Document Drafting:
  • Prepare complaints, petitions, motions, briefs, and discovery responses with precision and compliance.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and depositions.
Healthcare Collections:
  • Advise clients on collection strategies and recovery likelihood.
  • Assert creditor rights in estate and bankruptcy matters.
  • File suits to recover outstanding balances before Magisterial District Justices and Court of Common Pleas.
  • Support clients through the Medical Assistance eligibility process.
  • Pursue guardianship for residents of long-term care facilities.
Healthcare Regulatory:
  • Assist in preparing licensure applications and enrolling in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
  • Aid clients in responding to administrative agency surveys.
  • Provide litigation services for clients involved in disputes.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
  • Communicate legal advice clearly and empathetically.
  • Provide regular updates to clients.
Legal Research and Analysis:
  • Stay informed about legal changes affecting the firm's clients.
  • Analyze complex legal issues related to estates and trusts.
  • Utilize WestLaw for research.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania (PA). Additional mid-Atlantic jurisdictions are a plus.
  • Ideally, 2-5 years of experience in litigation.
  • Experience in healthcare collections and regulatory matters is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail in drafting legal documents and analyzing client situations.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain legal concepts clearly to clients.
