The Engineering Technician IV performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, shipping and receiving, and advice from supervisors or engineers as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:
a. Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
b. b. Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
c. Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data.
d. Climb certification may be required and assisting in tower climbing / support may be necessary occasionally. Cannot be afraid of heights.
e. Inventory management responsible for overseeing and optimizing the inventory management processes within the company. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory levels, forecasting demand, implementing inventory control procedures, and ensuring the efficient handling of stock to meet the needs of the business and its customers.
f. Shipping and Receiving is responsible for managing and overseeing the shipping and receiving operations within the warehouse and work spaces. This role involves ensuring that all products and materials are accurately processed and documented, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.
g. Have basic knowledge in the use of a computer.
h. Provide comprehensive administrative support and ensure the efficient operations of office activities. A key component of this role is proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, etc.) which is essential for conducting day-to-day activities.
