Job Overview

RTM Engineering Consultants, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Survey Party Chief to lead our field survey crew in performing boundary, topographic, and construction surveying tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct field survey crew operations, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Mentor and train junior survey technicians, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Analyze conflicts in construction drawings and design plans, providing solutions to ensure project success.
  • Prepare cut sheets and sketches for field surveys, utilizing expertise in surveying principles and theory.
  • Perform calculations to determine grades and locations of improvements on construction plans, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Read and interpret field survey notes, legal descriptions, parcel and tract maps, records of survey, and construction plans, applying knowledge of surveying concepts and practices.
  • Operate and maintain robotic and GPS survey equipment, staying up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, clients, and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in field surveying, with a strong background in boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to train and develop junior survey technicians.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze conflicts in construction drawings and design plans.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles and theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge in field survey operations.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining robotic and GPS survey equipment, with a commitment to staying current with industry advancements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
