Job Title: Assembly Team Leader
Department: Assembly
Accountability: This position reports to the Assembly Supervisor
Responsibilities:
• Set up daily work according to production schedule or verbal instructions
• Ensure assembly lines are running smoothly
• Collect and communicate work order priorities and statuses daily
• Train new hires and cross-train existing personnel
• Oversee that cleanliness and safety are maintained in work area
• Serve as first point of contact for any inquiries regarding assembly processes
• Communicate work order priorities and statuses daily and expedite as needed
• Provide feedback to Assembly Supervisor on employee performance
• Regularly participate in the assembly/packaging of product
• Read and follow work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies or verbal orders to assemble products
• Use hand tools and do occasional light duty machine work
Requirements:
• High School Graduate, Technical Certifications a plus
• Advanced assembly and/or testing skills
• Able to perform basic mathematical computations
• Must be able to understand written and verbal directions and convey them to others
• Must be able to read work orders, bills of materials and assembly instructions
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• General knowledge of workplace safety
• Must occasionally be able to lift and move from 50 to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
• Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus
Work Environment – Shop Area:
• Machinery
• Chemicals, (See SDS)
• Dust
• Noise
• Protective clothing and equipment may be required
