Job Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and supportive individual to join our Production team. This role entails setting daily, weekly, and monthly objectives while effectively communicating these to team members. Responsibilities include organizing workflows by assigning tasks, preparing schedules, and fostering an environment of empowerment, coaching, and mentorship within a manufacturing setting.

A Manufacturing Team Leader collaborates with the team to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, timely production outputs, and the identification of efficiency issues, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and problem-solving capabilities, with the capacity to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.



Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:
  • Analyze and interpret data to support departmental objectives.
  • Fulfill cross-training requirements within the department and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Manage production scheduling tools and collaborate with other departments to achieve targets.
  • Provide daily updates to management and productivity boards.
Leadership:
  • Ensure assemblers are well-trained in departmental procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain production pace to meet customer demand.
  • Manage employee time-off requests to ensure departmental commitments are met.
  • Enhance departmental performance by developing contingency plans and promoting teamwork.
  • Monitor employee performance, providing recommendations for improvement and conducting annual reviews.
Communication:
  • Report, track, and resolve any shortages related to parts or equipment issues.
  • Ensure production and on-time delivery targets are communicated effectively.
  • Respond promptly to changes in business management or scope of responsibilities.
Quality Assurance:
  • Provide employees with accurate information to execute processes.
  • Maintain required data and records for the work area (efficiency, turn backs, etc.).
  • Conduct quality checks according to established procedures and ISO requirements.
Training and Development:
  • Participate in MRB and quality discussions.
  • Stay informed on production features and benefits.
  • Ensure team members attend mandatory EHS training sessions.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary certifications for equipment operation.
Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promptly report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.
  • Lift a maximum of 35 lbs individually and 70 lbs with assistance.
  • Test PSI limit no greater than 30,000.
Workplace Organization:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. A minimum of 1-2 years of assembly experience with 3 years in a supervisory role is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with an understanding of KPI (key performance indicators) and Lean principles. Proficiency in computer applications (e.g., JD Edwards, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) is necessary.

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs is required.


Work Environment:

This position is fully site-based within a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, where protective eyewear and footwear are mandatory.
